Obituary:

Veronica D. “Von” Oliphant, 68, of Orlando, departed this life on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Von, as she was affectionately called by her family, was born on December 17, 1953 in Winter Garden, Florida to the late Mary and Nathaniel Thomas.

Von dedicated her life to serving God, her family and community. Professionally, she worked as a certified nurses assistant until she retired. She was a devoted member of Now Faith Baptist Church, Orlando; ‘We Can Make It’ Sewing Club; and Elks Lodge, Royal Palm Temple #890 for over 30 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her family to follow. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Lisa (Windell) Oliphant-Dockrey, Monica (Rodney) Allen; sister, Ruby Smith; brothers, Terry, Rufus, Gregory and Eddie (Rovenia) Thomas; 2 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 4PM-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, 1:00 PM at Orlando Baptist Temple, 4400 N. Powers Drive, Orlando with Pastor Clyde Morgan, officiating.

    Veronica, sad to hear that you are gone. I will always cherish the times we had together. You were so sweet and pleasant, and will be missed. Memories are all we have now, so rest on sis. My sincere condolences to the family.

    A life lived for God is not a lost life, it ends up buried with Jesus and came forth from the tomb with him. What joy Lisa , for you and faithful family shall see only Jesus but mother Veronica again, embrace the memories , God ever bless and keep you.
