Obituary:
Shirley Mitchell McKnight, 77, of Orlando, Florida departed this life on Thursday, March 7, 2024. Shirley was born on September 8, 1946 in Wadmalaw, SC to the late Allie Mae Mitchell. She was employed as a loan officer for several years prior to her demise.
Shirley was a very kind, generous, loving woman with a heart of gold. She dedicated her life to her raising and caring for her beloved family. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her children and family to follow. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory: daughter, Theora (Cornelius) Williams; sons, Gregory Mitchell, Stanley G. McKnight Jr.; 8 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and loving friends
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, 11:00 AM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando with Elder D.L. Mitchell, officiating. Interment: Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka.

My deepest sympathy to the entire family. Shirley and I were best of friends and grew up together on Wadmalaw Island, SC. She had a beautiful smile and a sweet laugh. One of the best person I know. She will be missed. Julia
