Obituary:

Icilda Lewis Palmer, 96, fell asleep and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 in Bronx, NY. Icilda was born on September 19, 1923 in Trelawny, Jamaica WI to Edwina and Jeremiah Lewis.

Icilda dedicated her life to service to her family and church. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was the matriarch of the Palmer family, who instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her children and grandchildren to follow. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her: daughter, Roselyn (Carlton) Haughton; sons, Hugh (Rona) Palmer, Vincent (Prudence) Palmer; sister, Cynthia Lewis; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a host of  relatives and many friends.

Due to the current state of COVID/19 pandemic and travel restrictions, the family has made provisions for those who are unable to attend the Homegoing Celebration Services to live stream using the following link: https://postellsmortuary.com/livestream

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 from 6-8PM at Restoration Center Church of God of Prophecy, 944 N. Dean Road, Orlando. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2020, 12:00 Noon at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando with Bishop Van Sullivan, officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.

    Hi Vincent on behalf of the Reid’s family, my mom and dad and myself, we know how hard it is losing your mom, I pray as you and family walk this journey, God’s continuous strength will be yours. We know she lived a full life and is now with her Lord Saviour Jesus Christ. Just know she has touch so many lives and will always be in our hearts. My children will surely MISS their GRANDMA very much. Be strong God Bless

    Good evening Our sincere sympathy to Mother Palmer Son and Daughter in Law Mr Hugh and Rona Palmer. .Such a great life is gone but God’s knows best.     Today my for some unknown reason memories of grandma are coming to me. I miss her so much and cherish all the fond memories of her. She lived a full life, she really lived. I hope she’s looking at us with pride. Forever and always, love you grandma.
