Obituary:
Helen Yvonne Muhammad-Ellis, 78, of Orlando, Florida departed this life on Friday, May 29, 2026. Helen was born on March 26, 1948 in White Plains, NY. Helen was raised in a Christian, loving and close-knit family. At an early age, she acknowledged the Lord as her personal savior. She lived a life marked by faith, compassion, and love for others.
Her passion for people and their health allowed her to impact countless lives as a nurse instructor at Orlando Technical College.
Helen’s greatest pride and joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She generously poured her perceptive wisdom, unconditional love, comforting warmth and unshakable support to each of them. She taught them, through example, what kindness looks like, what patience feels like and what it means to be loved. She modeled the Golden Rule and encouraged her family to treat others as they would want to be treated. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.
Helen leaves her precious memories with her husband, Benjamin Ellis; 3 children, Keisha Julien, Stanford Toran, Jaison (Renee) Julien; siblings, Anna Bell Seawright, Betty Lavar, Minnie Crockett, June Seawright, Joseph Seawright, James (Shondra) Seawright; 6 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 10:00 AM until services begin at 11:00 AM, Grace Bible Church, 801 Dorscher Road, Orlando with Pastor Gene Pritchard, officiating. Interment: Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, Florida.
