Obituary:
Catharine Jones Leonard, 83, of Tangelo Park, departed this life on Saturday, June 27, 2026. Catharine was born on October 11, 1942 in Forest City, FL to the late Essie Mae and Simeon P. Jones. She had a passion for children and worked as a special needs aide for several years. She and her late husband were active members of Tangelo Baptist Church. She served faithfully on the usher board even as her health began to decline. Aside from her church activities, she enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was a devoted and loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
‘Ms. Cat’, as she was affectionately known, is survived by her children, LaSonia Leonard, Donna Jones, Lenny Leonard; sisters, Rosa J. Samuels, Geneva Jones, Nathaniel Jones; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host other relatives, church family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 5-7PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, 11:00 AM at Tangelo Baptist Church, 7001 Ravenna Avenue, Orlando with Pastor David Outing, officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
