Obituary:

Peter Hugh “Shaggy” Braithwaite, 68, of Kissimmee, departed this life on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Peter was born on March 8, 1958 in St. Catherine, Jamaica WI to Lydia and Cyril Braithwaite.

Peter worked in construction for several years prior to his demise. He was a caring, trustworthy, kind hearted and respectable man. Aside from his professional work, he was his families’ “Mr. Fix it”, and he loved cooking. Peter was a devoted father, son, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his 3 children, Peter Braithwaite Jr., Samantha Braithwaite-Blake, Dehandro Braithwaite; mother, Lydia Braithwaite; 8 siblings, Mona, Valerie, Newton, Neville, Errol, Bobby, Michael, and Lorna; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 4-6 PM at the chapel. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, 2:00 PM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando with Pastor Kerrie-Ann Scott-Lawal, officiating.
