Obituary:

Kenneth Eugene “Ken” Chatman, Sr., of Leesburg, departed this life on Sunday, August 22, 2021. Ken, as he was affectionately called, was born on March 14, 1955 to Rosa Lee and Eugene Chatman. He was educated in the Lake County Public School system and enlisted in the US Army shortly after graduating. He ventured into many areas of employment and worked in construction before his health declined. He attended In His Life Ministry Church, Leesburg under the leadership of Pastor Felicia Hodge. Ken was known for his kindness and his compassion at heart for people. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

He leaves to cherish his memories: son, Kenneth Chatman, Jr.; daughter, Kenyonna Chatman; mother, Rosa Lee Chatman; wife, Marine Chatman; sisters, Rhonda (Cedrick) Longley, Olivia (Ernest) Pinkard; special friend, Angelina Dailey; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 11:00 AM until services begin at 2:00PM, St. Stephen AME Church, 302 Church Street, Leesburg with Pastor Felicia Hodge, eulogist. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery, Leesburg, FL.

    I must admit since we became men and went our separate ways i haven’t seen him in many years, but i do remember the good times. My condolences to the Chatman family and he will be missed. RIP my brother and our East street -June Drive group has loss another member, much love forever.
