Ms. Jessie was a faithful member of the choir at St. Mark for many years. She enjoyed singing her songs of praise to God and I could always tell when she really liked a particular song – she would get to rocking and might even raise her hand up. I can recall some of our conversations and she also had a wonderful sense of humor. It was a pleasure to have her in the choir. I praise God for her life and know without a shadow of a doubt that she is safely at rest now with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I pray for God’s peace and blessings upon the family during this time of transition.

To the family of Mrs. Jessie Howard through all of the years of growing up in Saint Mark AME Church she was always my birthday celebration buddy. Her birthday was December 12th and mine is December 13th and I recall last year when I saw that the family was having her a birthday celebration parade it was indeed an honor for me to attend. When I would go to the Orlando Magic games I would stand in line to enter through her entrance door to the arena just so I could have the opportunity to acknowledge her. Indeed it was a pleasure to know Mrs. Howard and she will be sorely missed but she has certainly danced a good life and is wearing her crown in the Kingdom of God!
