Obituary:

James Robert Comer, II, 65, of Orlando, departed this life on Monday, September 27, 2021. James, affectionately known as “Button”, was born in Lakeland, FL on July 27, 1956 to the late Ellen Mary and James R. Comer, Sr. He was educated in the public school system of Polk County and after graduation, he began a career in technology. He was employed as a computer operator at The University of Florida, Gainesville.

James was caring, trustworthy, kind hearted and respectable. He raised all of his kids with values and morals. He always taught all of his kids how to be strong and resilient. He cared for and loved all of his family. He was a provider and loved devoted his life to caring for his beloved family. He was a hard worker and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

James is survived by his loving wife, V. Maria Comer; 3 sons, James R. Comer, III, Jarrel Comer, Keanu Comer; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 from 4-6PM at the chapel. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, 1:00 PM at Upper Room COGIC, 3575 NE 15th Street, Gainesville with Bishop L. Cobaris, eulogist. Interment: Oak Ridge Cemetery, Micanopy, FL.

    James R Comer was not only my father, but his was also my best friend and my rock. He was the epitome of a survivor and savior. I don’t believe anyone could ever ask for a better ,Father, friend, or role model. I love you Dad. Fly high my KING.
