Obituary:
Denise “Grandma Nise” Perry, 61, of Orlando, departed this life on Wednesday, October 19, 2022. Denise, a lifelong resident of Orlando, was born on November 12, 1960 to the late Ida Bell and Robert Kelly. Professionally, Denise was employed as a hotel housekeeping supervisor for several years.
Denise dedicated her life to serving her family, children and community. She was known as the ‘community grandma’, caring and guiding countless children with her love, wisdom and compassion. She also enjoyed cooking and playing the lotto. Denise was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving and devoted children: 3 sons, Kelvin, Robert and Dennis Perry; sisters, Renee (Derrick) Bouie, Rose (Robert) Carter; brothers, Arthur Young, Steve Pierson, Ricky (Shanda) Perry, Wayne Perry, Tonny Perry, Michael Blackmon, Earl Perry; 11 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 4PM – 6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022, 11:00 AM at St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1968 Bruton Boulevard, Orlando with Elder Fredrick Bouie, officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
