Obituary:

David Jackson, 69, of Orlando, departed this life on Friday, July 24, 2020. David was born on July 5, 1951 in Orlando, Florida to Joseph Brown and Maude Lillian Jackson. David was affectionately nicknamed “Bruno”, all of his life, and as he retired and reconnected with other lifelong friends and new acquaintances he was also called “Preacher”. David graduated from Jones High SChool in the class of 1970. He continued his education at Valencia Community College, and Florida A&M University, where he graduated with a B.A. Degree in Criminal Justice-Cum Laude from the College of Arts and Science.

He served in the United States Army over a 10 years period. He served overseas in Germany in active duty for 2 years, and the Army Reserve as a drill Sergeant for 8 years. With a wealth of education and military experience, he embarked into a career with the Florida Department of HRS as a Delinquency Case Management Counselor for over 20 years. He also worked briefly as an educator with Orange County Public Schools. David worked as a Manager for Walgreens in Tallahassee, FL and Orlando for over 10 years where he took care of his customers with a great sense of humor.

He felt that one of his greatest and proudest accomplishments was when God blessed him with a son, David II. He was a devoted father, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his son, David Jackson, II; sisters, Tranny Jackson and Marion Jackson; daughter, Tameka; 3 grandchildren; special niece, Valerie Johnson; special nephew, Pastor Phillip Jones; and a host of other relatives, and many friends.
