Obituary: Corporal John Mason, Sr., 67, of Orlando, departed this life on Sunday, June 2, 2019. John was born on March 6, 1952 to Gwendolyn Mason and Edward Cooper in Philadelphia, PA. Corporal Mason served in the US Marines and later retired from Orange County Department of Corrections after over 25 years of dedicated service. He was also a proud member of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club. Corporal Mason was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife, Lorraine Mason; daughter, Taneara Charity; sons, Kenneth Carter, John Mason, Jr.; sisters, Gwendolyn (Earl) Bennett, Isabell (Joe) Walker, Claudine Mason; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 7, 2019 from 4-7PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019, 3:00 PM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. Interment: Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell.

    I worked with Mason in Corrections, he was a good guy. May God continue to bless the Mason Family.
