Obituary:

Clifford Alexander Daley, 87, of Orlando, peacefully departed this life on April 14, 2026. Born in Jamaica, West Indies to the late Cyril and Miriam Stewart Daley on September 1, 1938, he later made his home in the United States, where he was known for his hard work, dignity, and quiet strength.

He worked faithfully for many years as a custodian at Jones High School and Memorial Middle School until his retirement. A devoted member of Saint Mark A.M.E. Church, he served on the Steward Board, participated in the Male Chorus, Sunday School, and the WMS Senior Day Out ministry.

Clifford considered himself a people person and was known for warmly introducing himself as “Clifford the Big Red Dog.” He was admired for his well-dressed appearance, his beautifully kept yard, and his generous spirit. His lovely rose bushes, along with the greens, sugar cane, and flowers he grew and gave away, were lasting reflections of the joy he found in sharing with others.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Lee Wesley. He is survived by his sisters, Sylvia Gordon (Alfanso) of Jamaica and Daisy Daley of Ottawa, Canada; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, 11:00 AM at St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1968 Bruton Boulevard, Orlando. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.

Mr. Daley was the first person I met when I started my educational career at Memorial Middle School 30 years ago. I enjoyed listening to his stories (and he had many a good story!) over the years. I will always remember him for his kindness, willingness to support, and taking pride in everything that he did.

Mr. Daley was a very nice man, I first met him when my children went to Memorial Middle School and I was working for the the State of Florida and I had to work early so I would drop my son off early, so I could to work and he use let my son sit in the lunch room until school started. I later meet Mr. Daley again when I started doing income taxes and became his tax accountant since about 2002. It was truly my pleasure knowing such a sweet godly man, Mr. Daley became my only taxes client, I would pickup and drop off his return every year. He gave me greens, cabbage and sugar cane. I enjoyed talking to him when I would call on come to see him and he wouldn’t let me leave showing me his garden, house and yard. I even managed to bring my adult son to visit him many years ago ago he was so excited. Mr. Daley RIP it was truly my pleasure knowing you.
