Obituary:
Bishop Kapres Frazier Jr., 81, of Winter Garden, fell asleep and entered eternal rest on Monday, September 7, 2026. Bishop Frazier was born in Liberal, KS on March 14, 1945 to Edrina and Kapres Frazier Sr. who preceded him in death. Bishop Kapres accepted the Lord as his Savior at an early age.
After high school, he attended Florida A&M University, where he graduated with a degree in Education. After graduating from FAMU, Kapres returned to Orange County and began his teaching career, retiring from Chaney Elementary School. For more than 38 years Kapres devoted his life to shaping young minds with wisdom, kindness, and passion. His classroom was a sanctuary of learning, laughter, and discipline. He enlightened minds and touched hearts as a beloved teacher.
Bishop Kapres and his beloved late wife and partner in ministry, Mother Cheryl, were faithful members of EBON Temple Inc., Orlando for over 30 years. As a Ebonite, he served as an ordained clergy, traveled with the Missionary Society, and with the Drug Awareness Program. Bishop Kapres put God first in all that he did and he made sure his family knew who God was and how good God is. God knew he served his purpose and decided to call him home on Monday, September 7th. He was a devoted father, brother, grandfather, servant and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bishop Frazier is survived by two sons, Kapres Frazier III, Joe (Arlene) Frazier; sister, Melody Frazier-Williams; 6 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, other relatives, neighbors, church family, former colleagues and students, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, 12:00 Noon at Tabernacle of the Enlightened Church of God, 1097 Broome Avenue, Orlando with Bishop Thomas S. Lee, Jr. officiating. Interment: Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka.
