Obituary:
May Sylvia Wilson, 94, of Orlando, departed this life on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. May, lovingly known as Tanti May, was born on May 17, 1932 in Vance River, Trinidad and Tobago, WI. May was employed as a nurses aide for several years.
May was a loving, caring woman with a heart of gold. She loved being with her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren always gravitated to her. As the matriarch of the family, she instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her family to follow.
In addition to being a skilled baker, she also enjoyed cooking, travelling the world and watching her favorite shows. Tanti May was known as a “social butterfly”, she loved meeting new people and dressing up to attend social events and parties. Her warm smile and friendly personality will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed.
Tanti May is survived by her 4 children, Linton (Angela) Wilson, Eastlyn Wilson-Noel, Veronica Silver, Brian Wilson; 6 siblings, Nolle Andrews, Lorna John, Victor Andrews, Patricia Rush, Lynette Joseph, Angela Andrews; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, 11:00 AM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. Interment: Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka.
