Obituary:

Gloria Jean Rollins, 80, of Sanford, fell asleep and entered eternal rest on Monday, April 20, 2026. Gloria, a lifelong resident of Sanford, was born on December 29, 1945 to the late Mamie and Boysie Smith. She began her education in Seminole County Public Schools and later completed her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Rollins College, laying the foundation for a life defined by resilience, dedication, and faith.

Professionally, Gloria served her community as an educator, and taught for several years with Seminole County Public Schools. Her devotion to the craft was driven by her enthusiasm for positively impacting students and working alongside other passionate educators.

Her faith in God was central to her life. Sis. Rollins served in several roles as an active member Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church, Sanford. She loved the Lord and demonstrated her faith through service.

Gloria leaves no mourners for she lived a rich Christian life among loving and devoted family and friends. She is survived by her 7 children, Veronica (James Jr.) Postell, Tammy Rollins, Serita Rollins, Lateshia (Stanley) Williams, Gloria (Melvin) Bradley, Troy (Angela) Rollins, Johnnie (Shundrika) Rollins; 30 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; Goddaughter, Wanda (Patrick) Parker; and a host of other relatives and friends. She will live on in the hearts and minds of her family, former students, colleagues, church family and numerous friends.

Gloria will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her nurturing spirit, her strength as a mother, and her love for her church and community. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 5PM -7PM at Macedonia Primitive Baptist Church, 1714 Historic Goldsboro Boulevard, Sanford. A service of celebration will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, 11:00 AM at New Life Word Center, 1311 S. Oak Avenue, Sanford with Pastor Michael Imparato, officiating. Interment: Retlawn Cemetery, Sanford.
