Obituary:

Michael Joe Gipson, 70, of Orlando, departed this life on Thursday, April 2, 2026. “Mr. Mike”, as he was affectionately known, was born on October 13, 1955 in Winter Garden, Florida to the late Helen L. Caviness and Johnnie Gipson. After completing his formal education, he enlisted in the US Army, and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1981. After his military service, he went on to work in the U.S. Postal service until retirement.

Michael was a dedicated family man. He loved fixing things as a handyman, watching sports, and he was a die hard fan of FSU Seminoles. He was a devoted friend and mentor to many young men in the Richmond Heights community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his daughters, Sasha Gipson, Sharee (Jevon) Gipson-Burroughs; siblings, James McArthur, Debra (Keith) Gipson-Bridges, Stephon Gipson, Tia Owens; 6 grandchildren; and a host of other family, friends, and neighbors.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 4 PM- 6 PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church, 2525 W. Church Street, Orlando with Bishop Vincent Owens II, officiating.

To the Gipson / Postell Family, Michael, you were truly one of a kind. I’m going to miss seeing you at the Family Dollar every single day—always with your bag, your quiet words, and that warm smile. I’d ask what you had in there, and you’d just smile back, saying so much without saying much at all. Those little moments meant more than you probably knew. You’ll be deeply missed. 🤍 May the Family have comfort at this difficult time. God Bless The WILLIAMS, Gloria, Leslie, Je’Quan, Jeffery and Noriyah
