Obituary:
Willie Bruce “Billy” Lawrence, 75, of Orlando, departed this life on Monday, October 26, 2026. Billy, as he was affectionately known, was born on August 12, 1951 to the late Ethel and James Lawrence Sr. in Orlando, Florida. Billy retired from Delta Airlines after several years of service as a skycap porter.
Billy was a caring, trustworthy, kind hearted and respectable man. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, watching sports, and spending time with his family. For over 40 years, he spent countless hours at the Washington Shores Shopping Center, hanging out and enjoying life with his many friends. Whether you knew him as Billy, Lizard, Geeloc or Gee, one thing is for certain, he was an asset to the Washington Shores community, he was a devoted brother, grandfather and friend and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Billy is survived by his 3 siblings, James (Betty Ann) Lawrence Jr., David (Kathleen) Lawrence, Dorothy Lawrence Wade; 4 grandchildren; and a host of great grands; other relatives and numerous friends. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 6, 2026 from 5-7PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, 11:00 AM at New St. Mark Free Methodist Church, 1001 Grand Street, Orlando with Reverend Mark Lawrence, officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
The Lawrence Family kindly invites everyone to come out to fellowship with them on Friday Evening for a Fish Fry, from 7:30 P.M.-8:30P.M. at the Jackson Street Neighborhood Center. As well as on Saturday (repast) immediately following the burial at the L. Claudia Senior Center, 1840 Mable Butler Avenue, Orlando
