Obituary:
Beulah Vickers Monroe, 96, of Orlando, departed this life on Monday, May 18, 2026. Beulah, the daughter of the late Charlie Vickers and Emma Lee Edwards, was born on June 30, 1929, in Quincy, Florida.
Beulah was the oldest of two siblings. Beulah was happily converted at an early age and joined Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. Beulah attended the schools of Gadsden County and Dade County Florida, before the family relocated to Long Beach, Long Island, New York, where Beulah graduated from Long Beach High School. Beulah met and married her high school friend, Robert A. Monroe who preceded her in death.
Beulah was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for Nassau County Medical Center and a part-time Real Estate sales agent until her retirement in 1971 at which time she relocated to Orlando, Florida. She united with Shiloh Baptist Church and remained there until she became a founding member of the New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando where she remained until she went to be with the Lord.
Beulah provided travel services to the community through her travel agency, ABS Travel Services. She was also a member of the City of Orlando Municipal Planning Board, a New Covenant Trustee, Usher, Youth Leader, Evangelism Team Member, Choir and Finance Committee Member and Co-Chair member of the Missions Ministry.
Beulah is survived by five 5 children: Marvin, Godfrey, Clayton, Keith and Veronica; twelve (12) grandchildren and two (2) great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Dr. Sylvia P. Braswell; a special friend, Bessie Henderson; godchildren, a host of cousins, friends and church family. Beulah, (Butch) was feisty with a direct and outspoken personality which will be missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 from 5-7PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, 11:00 AM at New Covenant Baptist Church, 2210 S. Rio Grande Avenue, Orlando with Pastor Leroy Rose III, officiating. Interment: Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, NY.
