Obituary:
Gerald W. Harris, 57, of Orlando, Florida, transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, April 18, 2026. Affectionately known as “G,” Gerald was born on September 29, 1968, in the Bronx, New York, to Margery Neely. He carried his New York roots with him proudly throughout his life and was a devoted fan of the New York Giants. He was a man who found joy in the simple but meaningful things in life.
Gerald had a true passion for cooking and took great pride in making sure his family was always cared for and provided for. He was known for his presence—sometimes loud, often playful—but always rooted in love. Whether he was in the kitchen preparing a meal or checking in on those he loved with a familiar “10-4,” Gerald showed his love through his actions. Gerald worked as a door installer with TSR, where he dedicated himself to his craft and took pride in his work.
Gerald leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Crystal Anderson; his children, Velvetina Harris, Gerald Harris Jr., Jamel N. Harris, and Michael Harris; his bonus children, Kalani Rawls and Leilani Rawls; his siblings, Darlene Lee (Ronald) and Valinda J. Harris; his niece, Shquana V. Vargas; his nephew, Isaiah L. Clay (Victoria); and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony S. Harris. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. “Rest easy, ‘G.’ You don’t have to carry anything anymore—we’ve got it from here. 10-4.”
A memorial service will be held at a later date and time.
