Obituary:
Kathie Woods, 59, of Orlando, departed this life on Sunday, April 12, 2026. Kathie was born April 9, 1967 in Orlando Florida, to the late Thelma Woods Benoit (Dooly, Georgia) and Ernest Peterson (Orlando, Florida). She is preceded in death by her step daughter, Stamisha Childs.
Kathie was a believer and a child of God. She attended Jones high school. Kathie worked at “The Chicken Coop”. Kathie was also a care giver to her family. Often helping those in need and providing love to those who she encountered.
She leaves to mourn and celebrate her life: Fiancé, Stanley Childs; Daughters, Yolanda Woods (Michael) and Latasha Woods (Elgen); Step children, Devonta Childs, Shquanda Childs, Stanley Childs Jr.; Sisters, Gwendolyn Hayes (Larry), Charlene; Brothers, Dewayne Edwards, Keith Edwards (Sharron), Mike; Grandchildren, Shamya Boyd, Shardinay Boyd (Adrian), Shadaye Boyd, Michael Dyer Jr, Malayshia Dyer, Devonta Childs Jr; Great granddaughter, Alora Williams; 26 Nieces and Nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, 2:00 PM at Harvest Baptist Church, 514 S. Parramore Avenue, Orlando. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
