Obituary:
Verma Davis, 87, of Oakland, departed this life on Sunday, April 5, 2026. Verma was born on October 22, 1938 in Kingston, Jamaica, WI to Annette and Joseph Haughton. Professionally, Verma worked in child care services for several years before retiring.
Verma was a caring, trustworthy, kind hearted and respectable woman. She was more than a mother, she was a nurturer, a friend and a guiding light. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering generosity touched countless lives. If you needed her, she was there without hesitation, without judgement and always with love. She was a treasure to her family and she will dearly missed by all who knew her.
Verma is survived by her loving children, Eldon Davis, Garth Davis, Kashmir Davis; adopted daughter, Deirdre (Andre) Smith; sister-in-law/ caregiver, Ina Haughton; 5 grandchildren; and a host other relatives, church family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 10:00AM until services begin at 11:00 AM, Church of the Messiah, 241 N. Main Street, Winter Garden with Father Tom Rutherford, officiating. Interment: Winter Garden Cemetery, Winter Garden.
