Obituary:
Judith Ann Simmons Hope, a loving mother, faithful Christian, and devoted friend, peacefully entered eternal rest on January 1, 2026, in Orlando, Florida.
Born on November 29, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York, Judith was a woman whose life was defined by compassion, kindness, and unwavering love. She was known for her gentle spirit and her willingness to help anyone in need. If someone needed support, encouragement, or simply someone to listen, Judith was always there.
Judith attended John Dewey High School in Brooklyn, New York, and later continued her education at Bethune-Cookman College (now Bethune-Cookman University).
Judith had a strong Christian foundation and was a longtime member of Saint Mark AME Church. She had not attended regularly in recent years due to declining health issues. Nevertheless, her faith remained close to her heart and guided the way she lived, loved, and cared for others. She served faithfully as a member of Usher Board No. 1 and Usher Board No. 2 and encouraged her sons, Kenneth and Adam, to participate in Youth Church activities.
She loved to travel and experience new places, but above all else, her greatest joy was her sons. Nothing brought Judith more pride, happiness, or fulfillment than being a mother. Her boys were her world, and she poured her heart into caring for them, protecting them, and loving them unconditionally.
Judith is survived by her three beloved sons, in birth order: Anthony Hart of Poinciana, Florida; Kenneth Hope of Orlando, Florida; and Adam Hope of Orlando, Florida. She is also lovingly remembered by her two brothers and four sisters, residing in New York and Miami, as well as one granddaughter, one niece, one nephew, one great-niece, one great-nephew, a sister-in-law and her son, and a host of cousins.
Though she is no longer physically with us, Judith’s spirit, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy is one of kindness, faith, and a mother’s unconditional love.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 4-6 PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, 11:00AM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando with Reverend Priscilla Robinson, officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
