Obituary:
Barbara Wright Green, 80, of Orlando, departed this life on Monday, September 29, 2025. Barbara, a native of Madison, Florida, was born on February 12, 1945 to the late Sallie Mae Wright James Wright. She was the eldest of her mother’s two children.
Barbara was educated in the public schools f Madison, Florida, where she attended grades 1 through 12. She graduated from Madison County Training school with her school diploma. She later earned her Associate of Arts degree from Suwannee River Junior College and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree from Florida A&M University, Tallahassee.
Barbara accepted the Lord at an early age and throughout her life remained steadfast in her faith. Through test and trials, she did not let anything separate her from the love of God. Barbara was employed by Orange County Public Schools as a teacher from 33 years. She was a faithful member of Washington Shores Church of Christ for many years.
Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and a genuine friend. Her greatest assignment in life was being a mother and grandmother. Family was everything to her, and she found joy in supporting and encouraging them.
Barbara is survived by her devoted and loving son, Clarence Green Jr.; siblings, Forrest Wright, Edna (Larry) Frazier, Geraldine (Kenneth) McDaniel; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 4-6PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, 11:00 AM at Washington Shores Church in Christ, 2818 Orange Center Boulevard, Orlando with Pastor Trevonte Peterson Sr., officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
