Obituary:
Lydia Ernestine Blyden, 89, of Orlando, Florida departed this life on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Lydia was born on June 3, 1936 in Tortola, British Virgin Islands to the late Joanna and William S. Vanterpool.
Lydia was a very kind, generous, loving woman with a heart of gold. She dedicated her life to caring for her family people. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Lydia leaves her precious memories with a loving husband, Donald Blyden; daughters, Susan Blyden, Claudette Davis, Jewel Blyden; son, Anselmo Blyden; siblings, Eleanor, Philis, Darlene, Verna, Roberta, Sylise, Karen, Cynthia, Alken, Julian, Jerry, Alberto, Vernon, Michael, Kevin, Dennis; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 10:30 AM until services begin at 11:00 AM, St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 4851 S. Apopka Vineland Road, Orlando. Interment: Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka, FL.
