Obituary:
Reverend Henry Peoples, 92, of Orlando departed this life on Saturday, July 12, 2025. Rev. Peoples was born in Union Springs, Alabama on October 3, 1932 to Elizabeth and Lonnie Peoples who preceded him in death. Professionally, he was employed as a carpenter for many years until retirement.
God lead him to dedicate his time and service to Open Door Primitive Baptist Church of Orlando. He served faithfully and offered his talents willingly even as his health began to decline. Reverend Peoples put God first in all that he did and he made sure his family knew who God was and how good God is. God knew he served his purpose and decided to call him home July 12th. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, servant leader and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Rev. Peoples leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife, Sharon Peoples; daughter, Bessie (Charles) Peoples-Powell; brother, Ben Peoples; sisters, Sarah Walker, Eula Johnson, Emma McFliggins; 3 grandchildren; and a host of other family, church family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 from 4-6 PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, 11:00 AM at Circle of Faith Ministries, 206 N. Hastings Street, Orlando with Pastor Articuss A. Tolliver, officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
