Obituary:

Buford Jennings, 91, of Quincy, departed this life on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Buford was born in Hogansville, Georgia on May 30, 1934 to David and Sarah Jennings. Brother Jennings accepted Christ at an early age and joined Springfield Baptist Church, where he remained faithful throughout his life. Brother Buford earned his high school diploma from Hogansville High School in Hogansville, Georgia. In the 1950s, he was drafted into the United States Army.

Brother Buford‘s first entrepreneurial endeavor was to open “Gemini Garage” in Orlando, Florida, where he provided vehicle repairs to clientele. Buford later moved to North Florida (Quincy), where he drove trucks for Supervalu Perishable Warehouse until he retired. Because of his love of mechanics and hard work, Buford endeavored once again to start “Jennings Trucking and Logging, Inc.” where he operated as a licensed cargo carrier and later opened “Jennings Tire Repair.”

In his spare time, “Dollar Bill”, as he was affectionately known, enjoyed spending time with his family, watching basketball, barbecuing, being outdoors, doing mechanical work, watching news (CNN) and keeping up with current events. He was a loving father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Buford is survived by his 5 children, Jerry Jennings, Jean Jennings, Renee Jennings, Stephanie (Antonio) Jones, Patricia Cameron; a loving companion, Donna Reeves; 13 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025, 2:00 PM at New Life COGIC, 3311 N. Powers Drive, Orlando with Pastor Derrick Hutchins II, officiating. Interment: Edgewood Cemetery, Apopka.
