Obituary:
Ella Ruth Young-Carruthers, 85, of Orlando, departed this life on Monday, December 30, 2024. Ella was born on February 4, 1939 in Cottondale, Florida to the late Vassie and Joe Young. Professionally, Ella was employed as a navy base manager for several years.
She dedicated her life to her family, her faith and community. She was an active and faithful member of Community Baptist Church, Orlando, where she served in various capacities over the years. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her children and family to follow. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ella is survived by her 3 sons, Vernon (Robbie) Carruthers, Ray Merine, and Walter; and a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 from 5-7PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, 12:00 Noon at Community Baptist Church, 651 Campanella Avenue, Orlando with Pastor Alfred Moore, officiating. Interment: Taft Memorial Cemetery, Taft.

I want to express my condolences to your family during this difficult time. Please know that my family in Cottondale is thinking of you. My grandmother, Minnie Tripp, holds many cherished memories of cousin Ella, and her spirit will be deeply missed.
