Obituary:

Willie Fred Shepherd, Sr., 83, of Orlando, departed this life on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. Willie, affectionately known as Sambo, was born on December 6, 1940 in Donaldsonville, GA. Professionally, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for several years.

Willie devoted his life to providing for his family. He was affiliated with Solid Rock United Methodist Church, attending and participating where he was needed. He instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for his children and grandchildren to follow. He will be remembered well for his radiant smile and warm eyes, encapsulating his loving and caring nature. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Sambo leaves to cherish his memories: devoted wife, Deloris Shepherd; 3 children, Kevett (Michelle) Mickle Sr., Letitia (Melvin) Shepherd-Spencer, Willie Shepherd Jr; siblings, Shirley A. (Shelly) Moore, Patricia Whitfield, Gretchen Johnson, Stewart Johnson; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 4-6 PM at the chapel. A service of celebration will be held on Friday, October 4, 2024, 10:00 A.M. at Solid Rock United Methodist Church, 440 S. Kirkman Road, Orlando with Pastor Theo Jackson, officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
