Obituary:
Sammy Lee Lockett, 69, of Orlando, departed this life on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Sammy was born on May 21, 1955 in Albany, GA to Willie Pearl Chapman and James Lee Lockett. Sammy served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1981. After his military service, he worked as a truck driver for several years.
Sammy was a dedicated family man. He instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all of his family to follow. In his spare time, he enjoyed martial arts, boxing, and listening to gospel music. Sammy Lee was a devoted father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Nedra T. Johnson; father, James Lee Lockett; 6 siblings, Rosa (Leroy) Howard, Queen Esther (Ronnie) Young, Josette (Daniel) Allen, Patricia Moultrie, Leann (Mike) Peterson, Darrell Evers; 3 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, 9:30 AM at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, 5525 US-1, Mims with full military honors.
