Obituary:

Ruby Mae McGill, 96, of Orlando, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024. She was born in Cuthbert, Georgia, on March 11, 1928, to the late Leroy Lightner and the late Ruby Jones Lightner. Ruby, a devoted member of True Vine Baptist Church, Orlando, Florida, was known for her unwavering faith and her love for singing in the choir, a role that brought joy to many. She also found joy in baking, singing, and spending time with her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

Ruby is survived by her loving children, daughters, Jennifer McGill-Henderson (Teddy) and Cathy McGill-Johnson (Edward); sons, Ajari Davu-Jianda and Kevin McGill; 2 grandchildren; 3 great-grands; brother, Willie J. Lightner; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at St, Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church on Friday, August 30, 2024, from 5 PM to 7 PM.

A Homegoing Celebration Service honoring the life of Ruby Mae McGill will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 2 PM at St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church

1968 Bruton Boulevard, Orlando, with Pastor Omega Jenkins, officiating.
Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando, Florida

    My gratitude goes beyond words for all the love, prayers, meals, etc. she poured into my life at such a young age, she will forever be in my heart, I am thankful to God that he allowed me to see her one last time.
