Obituary:

Lee F. Powell, 70, Orlando, departed this life on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. Lee was born on November 10, 1953 in Columbia, AL to the late Mittie and Tilmon Powell. Lee was educated in Orange County Public Schools and a proud graduate of Jones High School, class of 1972.

Lee owned and operated his own business, Powell Fire Sprinkler Systems, for several years prior to his demise. He was a faithful member of Pine Hills Community Church, Orlando. Lee was a loving family man and enjoyed being outside, going to the beach, eating his favorite foods, and studying to better his craft. Lee was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Cora Powell; children, Duane (Hope) Powell, Ashlee Powell, Brittani Powell, Julius D. Miles, and Pastor Julius L. (Taquanda) Miles, III; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 5-7PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, 11:00 AM at Pine Hills Community Church, 1305 N. Pine Hills Road, Orlando. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.

    Mr. Powell and I worked together on construction project for Orange County. He was kind to me. My love and prayers are with the family, especially Ms. Cora. Mr. Lee will be missed my members of the Fire Marshal’s office, but I’ll especially miss hearing him say, “Miss Stephanie” in his Southern accent. xoxo

    Lee and I worked on Fire Sprinkler Systems together for years, before my retirement. We became lifelong friends. He will be missed.
