Obituary:

Joyceline Lynch, 79, of Orlando, departed this life on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Joyceline was born in Albion Mountain in the parish of St. Mary, Jamaica, on September 7, 1944 to Gertrude and Sydney Green. She was the second of 4 children. She was affectionately called ‘Stormy’ by her family because she was born on the day of a severe storm. She received her early education at Port Maria Elementary and Crandall High Schools.

As a teenager, she was baptized at the Charles Street Seventh Day Baptist church, where she attended faithfully with her mother and siblings. Joyceline migrated to England where she joined her parents and continued her education. She worked with London Transport for many years and later met the love of her life, married Leonard Lynch and had 3 sons – Andrew, Paul and Michael.

In 1969, she moved to New York through the prompting of her aunt, Trixie Jackson. Her husband and sons later joined her in 1972. Having lived in New York for a while, Joyceline was attracted to the warmer weather in Florida and moved with her family to Orlando in 1979 where she worked at the Hyatt Regency for many years.

She later joined the Pine Hills SDA church, now Solid Rock. She was one of the founding members and dedicated her time to serving in several departments including hospitality, singing in the choir and she taught as a part of the Sabbath school. Joyceline loved her church, she was a faithful member and worked tirelessly for the work of the Lord and attended church regularly until she became ill.

She was a loving, caring mother to her sons; gave advice when she saw it necessary and would go the extra mile for anyone. She was fun to be around and there was never a dull moment when in her company. Her laughter was infectious! Joyceline loved her family and was a devoted daughter to her parents and cared for them until their passing. Joyceline remained in contact with her school friends and took great delight in updating others about their progress. She was known to prepare delicious Thanksgiving dinners, not to mention her awesome carrot cakes; and anyone was welcome to partake at her home. Joyceline became ill in 2022 and was unable to continue doing the fun activities that she had previously enjoyed. During her illness, she had the amazing support of her family, church family and friends.

Joyceline is survived by her sons, Andrew (Veronica), Paul ((Masumi) and Michael (Brenda); sister, Yvonne Boothe (Kenneth); brother, Delroy Green (Boygreen); three grandchildren, Cameron and Courtney Beal, Brian Lynch; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 10:00AM until services begin at 11:00AM, Solid Rock Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4955 Rose Avenue, Orlando with Pastor Samuel M. Dade, Jr., officiating. Interment: Woodlawn Memorial Park, Orlando.
