Obituary:

Dexter Lamont Robinson, 44, of Orlando, departed this life on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Dexter, known affectionately as “Deck”, was born on March 26, 1979 in Statesboro, Georgia, to Joseph Robinson and Sheila Fleming. As a military child, he and his family settled in Orlando, Florida, in 1991. This allowed him to meet so many individuals that he considered to be family and loyal friends.

Dexter’s vibrant sense of humor made him a beloved figure. “Deck” had the remarkable ability to make friends effortlessly, weaving laughter into the fabric of almost all of his interactions others. His quick wit and infectious laughter (humor) became synonymous with cherished memories for all who encountered him. Dexter’s magnetic personality and golden heart left an indelible mark on everyone he met.

In 1998, he met his soul mate, Tamika McKnight and after a few short years of dating they made a commitment to each other and became husband and wife. Dexter became gainful employed at Nelson Tents and Events where he quickly displayed leadership traits and was placed in a position of management; he dedicated himself to this company until his health no longer allowed. Dexter had a heart of gold and was loved by everyone he encountered. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish these precious memories: wife, Tamika T. Robinson; children, Keara (Melvin) McKnight, Octavia Henderson, Breianna Henderson; father, Joseph Robinson; siblings, Tameka Fleming, Eneas Robins, Diav’lo Fleming, Tyshawn Miller, Joselyne Santiago, Nigel Jose Robinson; 1 grandchild; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, 1:00 PM at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 412 E. Kennedy Boulevard, Eatonville with Pastor James Harris, Jr., officiating. Interment: Eatonville Memorial Gardens, Eatonville.

    Dex, It just doesn’t seem real. You have always been the life of the gatherings. You have a heart of gold and will help anyone in need. May your soul rest peacefully. There is comfort knowing to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. You are completely healed. No more pain ;No more sorrow. You will be missed my brother but always in our hearts.
