Obituary:

Karen Denise “KC” Wafer, 58, of Orlando, Florida departed this life on Sunday, December 24, 2023. KC, as she was affectionately known, was born to Catherine and the late Deacon Eddie Banks on April 21, 1965 in Tifton, GA.

Karen was a very kind, generous, loving woman with a heart of gold. She dedicated her life to her raising and caring for her beloved family. She enjoyed traveling, decorating, couponing and just being around her family. She was an active member of The Hope Church of Orlando, where she participated in the church choir and with the Awesome Ministry. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her family to follow. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Karen leaves her precious memories with her children, Jeanette Wafer, Brittany Anderson; son, Bradley (Emily) Wafer Jr.; mother, Catherine Banks; sisters, Asanti Williams, Amanda Atkinson; brothers, Ronald (Montika) Atkinson, Michael (Tara) Banks, Keith (Teresa) Banks; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 4-6 PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, 1:00 PM at The Hope Church of Orlando, 3032 Monte Carlo Trail, Orlando with Archbishop Allen TD Wiggins, officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
