I remember Ms. Borens fondly from the 1970s when I was in her Social Studies class at Roosevelt Jr. High School in Cocoa Beach. Her late husband, Milton Borens was a father figure to us all in chorus at that time. She easily became a mother figure as well. I am grateful that many of us got to spend some time with her at a chorus reunion in Cocoa Beach as recently as August. Her beautiful smile, easy going energy and humor was welcoming to all. She will be very missed. I will be there in spirit with the family during this difficult time of loss. She is singing with Milton in Heaven.
