Obituary:
Bertha Mae Cole Tullis, 88, of Orlando, departed this life on Sunday, October 1, 2023. On Sunday morning at 9:42 AM, God called Mrs. Bertha Mae Cole Tullis to come home to heaven. She was born Bertha Mae Cole on February 23, 1935 in Sylvester, GA to the late Mary D. and Dan Cole, Sr. She was Bertha Cole until 1958 when she met her beloved husband of 65 years, Willie James Tullis and they were blessed to have 8 beautiful children, 6 girls and 2 boys.
Mrs. Bertha Tullis for over fifty years she was a loving mother, homemaker, grandmother, and a great home decorator. She loved to cook for her husband and family. Mrs. Bertha always upheld and promoted marriage and she always loved her “hot tea”. Her message and legacy spoke for itself; Marriage is “until death do you part”. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her family to follow. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Willie James Tullis; daughters, Mary Tullis, Willie James Tullis Jr., Portia (Milton) McKinney, Belinda (Paul) Denny, Burnette (Al) Tullis, Ruby (William) Bolden, Darlene Tullis, Earl Tullis; 23 grandchildren; 7 siblings, Dan Cole Jr., Roosevelt Cole, Oscar Emmanuel Cole, Inez Fegan, Estella Hall, Rosemary Brown, Gloria Ann Edwards; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 4PM-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, 1:00 PM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando with Pastor Ronald Critton, eulogist. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
