Obituary:

Eva E. Tisdale, 87, of Parkland, entered her eternal rest on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Eva was born on July 20, 1936 in Lake City, SC to the late Mary G. and Cornelious Eaddy.

After graduating high school, Eva continued her education and graduated from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, Florida. While at FAMU she was inducted into the Beta Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Professionally, Eva served her community as an educator, and taught for over 40 years with Semionle County Public Schools. Her gift for teaching impacted countless students. Her devotion to the craft was driven by her enthusiasm for positively impacting students and working alongside other passionate educators. She retired from Woodlands Elementary, Longwood after several years of service.

She loved the Lord and was a lifelong member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Eva was very active in the Church. She loved music and served as the choir director of Greater St. Paul AME Church, Orlando for many years. Aside from music, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Eva was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, educator, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Sister Eva Tisdale leaves no mourners for she lived a rich Christian life among loving and devoted family and friends, regardless of race, creed or color, just loved by all. She is survived by her daughter, Gwendolyn (Michael) Martin; son, Michael Tisdale; 8 grandchildren. She will live on in the hearts and minds of her family other relatives, former student, colleagues, sorority sisters and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 8, 2023 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, 11:00 AM at New Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 4201 W. Columbia Street, Orlando with Rev. James Watkins, eulogist. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
