Obituary:

Winston J. McGill, Sr., 87, of Orlando, departed this life on Friday, August 18, 2023. Winston, a lifelong resident of Orlando, was born on August 24, 1935 to the late Hattie S. and Roseborough McGill, Sr.

Winston was an active member of Solid Rock United Methodist Church, Orlando. Professionally, Winston served his community as an educator, and taught for over 35 years with OCPS. His gift for teaching and coaching impacted countless students. His devotion to the craft was driven by his enthusiasm for positively impacting students and working alongside other passionate educators. He retired from Ivey Lane Elementary after several years of service. Winston was a loving father, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Winston is survived by his beloved daughter, Michelle McGill; son, Winston McGill II; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2023 from 5-7PM at Solid Rock United Methodist Church, 440 S. Kirkman Road, Orlando. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, 10:00 AM at St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1968 Bruton Boulevard, Orlando with Rev. Theo Jackson, officiating. Interment: Greenwood Cemetery, Orlando.
