Obituary:

Schuylia Evon Adams, 66, of Belle Isle departed this life on Saturday, January 7, 2023. Schuylia was born on August 26, 1956 in Sheffield, Alabama to the late Ms. Johnnie Morris Lloyd and the late Mr. Jack Meade.

She married the love of her life, Archie Mose on August 20, 1983. They met while serving in the Armed Forces in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Schuylia Evon served for four years. In 1986, she gave birth to her first born and namesake, Schuylia Cania. Two years later, she gave birth to her youngest daughter, Kara. Schuylia was a protective, passionate and caring mother who instilled southern values into her children that continue to influence them throughout their life.

While she never had the multitude of biological children she dreamed of, she often had a house full of nieces, nephews, godchildren or children from the neighborhood. She was selfless and giving with her time, resources and love. She enjoyed cooking and often cooked enough for a family of eight, she said all the food reminded her of her own childhood.

Born Schuylia Evon Meade, she loved being outside and playing ‘kick the can’. She became a lover of travel during her adulthood; some of her favorite places to visit were: Maui, HI and Paris, France.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband: Archie Mose Adams, Jr. Belle, Isle, FL; two daughters: Schuylia Cania Adams (Kew), Belle Isle, FL and Kara Adams, Portland, OR. One brother: Barry (Janice) Coger. Her pup: Julez and her grand-pup: Brooklyn. A host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, friends and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 9:00 AM until services begin at 10:00 AM, Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 421 S. Pennsylvania Avenue, Winter Park with Pastor Weaver Blondin, officiating. Interment: Cape Canaveral VA Cemetery, Mims with full military honors.
