Obituary:

Eric James Poole, 61, of Groveland, transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, August 5, 2022. Eric was born on October 31, 1960 in Orlando to the late Emma Marie Barrington and Freddie D. Poole.

Eric was educated in Orange County Public Schools and graduated from West Orange HS. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army. He served his country proudly and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He and his beloved wife were members of Joshua Generation Outreach Church. The motto Minister Eric carried with him, “if I can help somebody as I pass this way, then my living shall not be in vain” became a major tool he used to guide countless souls to the ever- open door of Christ. Gaining the love and respect from many, Minister Eric light became a strong, gravitational pillar for every community he served. He remained a faithful member until his health began to decline.

In his spare time, Sgt. Minister Eric enjoyed travelling with his family, riding his motorcycle, and just being outdoors. He was very athletic and even ran a marathon in Hawaii. Any one who knew Eric knows he was a die hard fan of the Miami Hurricanes. Sgt. Minister Eric was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, Servant and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Sgt. Minister Eric breathed his last breath and put on his new robe of glory on August 5th. His ministry and legacy will live on in the hearts of his wife, Sharon A. Poole; beloved children, Demaci (Adrian) Griffin, Erica (Jawann) Poole-Slater, Aerial (Cliff) Poole-Peeples, Eric (Hrefna H.) Poole, II, Sirvante Poole, Fondrieta Pittman; sister, Gina (Robert) Poole-Allen; brothers, Daniel (Paula) Cummings, Freddie (Elecia) Poole; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and numerous friends. Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 4-6PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Joshua Generation Outreach Church, 5225 Alhambra Drive, Orlando with Apostle Jerry D. Owens, officiating. Interment: Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell with full military honors.
