Obituary:

Lillie Mae Shanks, 88, of Orlando, departed this life on Monday, April 18, 2022. Lillie Mae was born on September 11, 1933 in Thomson, GA to the late Rosa Lee and Walter Shanks. Lillie Mae received her formal education from Orange County Public Schools and graduated from Hungerford Prep School.

Professionally, Lillie Mae worked in healthcare for several years and retired from Florida Hospital. She had a passion for taking care of people. In her spare time, she enjoyed going on cruises, travelling, and spending quality time with her family.

She was a woman of great wisdom. She dedicated her life to service, to her family and community. She was an active member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, Eatonville. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all of her children and grandchildren to follow. Her memories will live on in our hearts. She loved her family and showed love to everyone. Ms. Lillie Mae was and will continue to be an inspiration to us all for living life in an exemplary way. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Lillie Mae leaves to cherish her love and memories to: her loving daughter, Shalisa S. Fairclough (Garnet); 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 4-6 PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, 1:00 PM at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 412 E. Kennedy Boulevard, Eatonville with Pastor Willie C. Barnes, officiating. Interment: Eatonville Memorial Gardens.

    I am saddened to hear this news. Ms. Lillie Mae, you will be greatly missed in this community. I can remember any time I needed any Notary work done, you were always the one I came to. R.I.P and my condolences to the Shank and Glover Family.
