She went on to graduate from Lincoln Business College in Orlando, FL.
Betty met and feel in love with Joe Louis Bell Jr. Together Betty and Joe started a family of one son and two daughters. They were the first black family to move onto Mercy Drive in Pine Hills. They were proudly known as the family with everything green.
Betty always loved the Lord, but she became truly devoted in her 30’s. Every Sunday was a joy to wake up, dress her children, and head to church. She was a choir member and also served on the usher board. Betty also participated in the Masonic Order of Eastern Stars of Prince Hall Grande Lodge on Bruton Boulevard.
Betty had positions and occupations in the workforce of Orlando. After working at Orlando Regional Medical Center, she began working with the School Board Chapter 7. She soon switched occupations to make hearing aids for the company, Electone. Her favorite job was at Martin Marietta, now Lockheed Martin. At Martin, she excelled working night side and dayside Optics, equipping mirrors and glass for tactical aircraft and missiles. More specifically, she worked on the TADS/PNVS for Raytheon Apache Attack Helicopters as well as Blackhawk and Hellfire missiles. She received numerous certificates and awards.
Betty Jean leaves to cherish her precious memories to her devoted husband of 52 years, Joe L. Bell, Jr.; son, Marcus (Angelina) Bell; daughters, Tamara Bell, Roshunda Bell; sister, Julia Louise Williams; 3 grandsons; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Thank you so much for traveling to mommy’s Home Going. It was a bittersweet time but God needed his Angel to guide others as she Prayed for them here on earth. She enjoyed the times she was able to get together with you all. She was Blessed to live a much longer life than the doctors predicted her to as it is said “But Good” . He kept her a around to be a bridge when there was a gap in people’s lives. She served Him well and is at Peace. Love you. Cousin Tam.
