Obituary:
Sophia Charmaine Morris, 62 of Orlando, departed this life on Saturday, October 23, 2021. Sophia was born on September 29, 1959 to Vera Nichols and the late Willie Joe Morris. She attended Evans High School and was a lifelong resident of Orlando, FL. She truly loved her family. When she greeted you it was “hello sugar lump” or “hello darling”. She always wanted to follow in her paternal grandmother’s footsteps and become a nurse. If you were ill she would nurse you back to health. Witch Hazel was the trick! Sophia had an infectious laugh, her favorite color was red, and she loved her Popeye’s chicken. One of her favorite things to do was to attend church and praise God. Sophia was a devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Harrison; sons, Rodriguez Wilson and Ramon (Stephanie) Morris; mother, Vera (Charles) Smith; 8 siblings, Linda (Wilbur) Cole, LaVon Gainey, Anthony (Mary Ann) Morris, Adolph (Carol) Morris, Adrian Morris, Angela Morris, Reginald (Pandora) Morris, Eric Morris; 4 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021; 1:00 PM at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Institutional Church, 535 W. Washington Street, Orlando with Rev. Dr. Robert Spooney, officiating. Interment: Woodlawn Memorial Park, Orlando.
