Obituary:
Deaconess Thelma McGhee, 85, of Orlando fell asleep and entered eternal rest on Thursday, August 26, 2021. Thelma, affectionately called ‘Miss Chick’, was born in Albany, GA on December 11, 1935 to Bertha and Henry Puttman, who preceded her in death. Deaconess McGhee accepted The Lord as her Savior at an early age. Professionally, she was employed as a registered nurse for many years.
Thelma’s children, grandchildren and family meant the world to her, and even after her health failed her, she never forgot her family and others she loved. She is now resting in the blossom of Jesus where there is no more pain or sorrow. She has her wings now, and Heaven has another angel. Her memory will forever be treasured by all that knew and loved her. She served faithfully as a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and as a Sunday School teacher. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Anthony Frazier, Charles (Vanessa) McGhee; daughters, Yolanda (Elbert) Gills, Brenda Frazier; 3 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021 from 4-6PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021, 1:00PM at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 654 W. Anderson Street, Orlando with Pastor Rollie Murray Jr., officiating. Interment: Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell.
