Obituary:
Willie Franklin “Willie B” Broome, 67, of Orlando, transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, August 6, 2021. Willie, lifelong resident of Orlando, was born on May 31, 1954 to the late Henrietta and Napoleon Broome. Professionally, Willie held several jobs, from janitorial services at Valencia Community College to working as a chef. He was an active member of St. Mark AME Church, Orlando for several years. He served his country proudly in the US Army. He was a servant of God who feared and loved the Lord with all his heart until his last breath. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed and cherished by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Irma Broome; sons, Terrell (Marquita) Oliver, Nathan (Diana) Broome, Robert (Carlisha) Bush, Demetris Moton; daughters, Melissa Denmark, Sinead Broome, Denecia Broome; siblings, Eldora (Elder George) Dailey, Johnnie Mae (Windell) Barnes, Howard Broome, Cheryl Hollinger, Angela (Donny) Daniels; 23 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and numerous friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 5-7PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021, 11:00 AM at St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1968 Bruton Boulevard, Orlando. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando with full military honors.

Willie was the unpaid counselor and adviser for numerous students at Valencia College. Young people know when you sincerely care about them and “Mr. Willie” was that unique individual. He always reminded me that Loretta and I treated him like a little brother when he was only a year younger. He forgave me :).
