Obituary:

Deacon Charles H. Williams, 89, of Orlando, transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, February 5, 2021. Charles was born on March 17, 1931 in Cleveland, TN. He received his formal education in the Public Schools of Cleveland, TN. He joined the United States Air Force where he retired as a Sergeant. It was while in the service that he met and married his wife of 57 years, Doris H. Williams and together they raised their only son Dr. Tommy J. Dorsey.

Charles H. Williams was a man of great strength, great love, and great spirituality. He was also a man of great energy and wisdom, and because of this, he was able to retire from the US Postal Service where he worked for 20 years. he was with wife Doris H. Williams in all of her Christian organizations. Among those were the Progressive Pallbearer Grand Union. They were both devoted members of Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. His other passions included fishing and working.

Deacon Williams is survived by his son, Dr. Tommy (Virgie) Dorsey; grandson, Dr. Tommy J. Dorsey, II; great granddaughter, McKenzie E. Dorsey; brother-in-law, Archbishop James Lowery; sisters-in-law, Rev. Ramona Bain and Elder Clara Harris; nephew, Larry Johnson; members of the Zion Hill Deacon Board, church family and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Thursday, February 11, 2021, 12:00 Noon at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1110 Drew Avenue, Orlando with Pastor Charles Williams Jr., officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
