Obituary:

Emma Mae Dorsey, 100, of Orlando, transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday, November 29, 2020. Emma Mae, affectionately called Granny M, was born on October 11, 1920 in Valdosta, GA to the late Willie B. Williams and Maceo Hunter. She was educated in the public school system and later moved to Orlando from Sarasota in the 1990’s. Professionally, Emma was employed as a clerk for several years.

Emma Mae dedicated her life to service to her family and community. She was a member of both Feed Jesus Sheep and New Bethel AME Church, Orlando. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for her family to follow. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her devoted daughter, Betty Jean Dorsey-Chandler; grandson, Gregory R. Chandler; great grandson, Gregory C. Chandler; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020, 11:00 AM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Ronald E. Wiliams, Sr., officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
