Obituary:

Bessie L. Esland, 70, of Port Richey, FL departed this life on Friday, March 13, 2020. Bessie was born on June 24, 1949 in Mobile, Alabama to Martha and Sidney Cook. She was employed as a restaurant cook for several years. Bessie was a loving kindhearted person who was well known for her beautiful smile that brightened everyone’s day. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Bessie leaves to cherish her love and memories to her husband, Winford Esland; sons, Eric Wiggins and Danny Wiggins; brothers, David Cook, Nathaniel (Nancy) Cook, Albert (Debra) Cook; sisters, Geraldine (Wayne) Hamon, Lois Russell, Dolly (Charlene) Parson, Linda (Kenny) Henderson, Jeannette Cook; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 24, 2020 from 4-6PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM, Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando. Interment: Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka.

Due to the current state of COVID/19 pandemic and travel restrictions, the family has made provisions for those who are unable to attend the Homegoing Celebration Services to live stream using the following link: https://postellsmortuary.com/bessie-esland

Executive Order in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic… we will only allow 10 individuals in at a time to enter the funeral home during Friday’s visitation. We must adhere to these guidelines so that we all can remain safe and secure during this crisis. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

    My grandmother was loved by so many people her work here on earth was completed her angelic voice golden smile warmest hugs will be missed myself and my children so dearly words cant express how much of an positive impact that she had on so many people. She embraced everyone and treated you with respect the best home cooked meals. Her speaking positive impact on her life and others is what made her Bessie she never gave up no matter how hard life a gotten she prayed on it and left it in jesus hands as should say. I love you grandma and we all will miss you dearly . “soon and very soon we are going to see the king”.
