Obituary:

Wemyiss O. Clarke, 82, of Orlando departed this life on Sunday, March 15, 2020. Wemyiss was born in Hanover, Jamaica, West Indies to the late William and Lucille Martin Clarke on October 17, 1937.

To those who knew Wemyiss, he will be remembered as a caring, outgoing person who was willing to lend a helping hand. He was always there to offer his support from taking care of his family, and to his grandchildren, Wemyiss was someone you could trust and rely on. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

His memories will be cherished by his wife: Josephine Clarke; 13 beloved children, Paulette (Reuben) Clarke-Gayle, Lauretta Lafayette, Teresa Lafayette, Tammie Cox, Lloyd Clarke, Sonya Lafayette, Diane Clarke, Rochelle Oxindine, Glen (Doette) Ford Clarke, Pennie Clarke, Phillip Clarke, Jayqwan Clarke, Dane (Myra) Clarke; siblings, Nina Clarke, William Clarke (Dawn), Margaret Clarke, Selvan Clarke, Daphne Clarke Cocking (Gifford), Monica Clarke, and Clarence Clarke.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2020 from 5-8PM at the mortuary. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2020, 1:00PM at Postell’s Mortuary Chapel, Orlando with Pastor Gene Pritchard, officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, FL.
